  • Nicky's career within the entertainment industry began at an early age. After formal Dance and Drama training at both The Royal Ballet School and later at The London Studio Centre, she embarked on a professional dance career that saw her perform across the UK and Europe in Theatre, TV and bio. After many successful years as a Professional Dancer, Nicky retired from the dance world and now focuses her career as an Actress, Presenter, Voiceover artist and Commercial Model.

    Her credits include TV commercials for Matalan, British Seniors, Verisure, Hammonds Furniture, Princes Tuna, United Carpets and Beds, DFS, Harvey's, The Daily spegel, Betfred, Toys 'R' Us', Warren Federal Credit Union (USA) and Furniture Row (USA).     TV and radio presenter Nicky was adopted a few days after he was born in by Frank and Sheila Campbell. His biological mother Stella Lackey was unmarried and had travelled from Ireland to give birth. Although she sent Christmas cards for the first five years of Nicky's life, they had no direct contact. It was not until he was in his 20s that Nicky decided to try and track down Stella and his biological father Joseph.

    Although he discovered that his biological heritage was Irish, Nicky still thinks of himself as a Scot and it's his adoptive family, the Campbells, that he's closest to. For this reason Nicky took the unusual decision to investigate his adoptive family's history. 'I've traced my birth family', says Nicky at the start of his journey, but this is the chance to find out more about the roots of my adoptive family, the people who I think of as my real mum and dad.'

    In March Nicky Campbell joined BBC1’s primetime consumer affairs programme Watchdog, taking over the helm from Anne Robinson, and currently presents both the BBC Radio 5 Live Breakfast programme and BBC One&#;s Sunday morning faith and ethics show The Big Questions.

    Nicky Campbell joined BBC Radio Five in October , as host of their morning news magazine show &#; broadcast daily from 9am – 12noon. In May The Nicky Campbell show won the prestigious Sony Gold Award for Best Daytime News Talk Show (for an interview with Gerry Adams) and the Sony Award for Best Magazine Show.
