“Based on the research of Leif Lundberg”. That phrase, found in various materials by David L Jones (voiceteacher.com), was the clue that eventually allowed me to untangle the web of claims supporting Mr Jones’s mythical tradition of singing. Until I contacted Mr. Lundberg directly, I was unable to find any documentation that wasn’t based on something David L Jones had written himself. And I really mean NOTHING. I did find a lot of inconsistencies, and while those did suggest a completely invented “lineage” and tradition, it was conceivable that the main ideas and history could still be true. There was no metaphorical smoking gun. Nothing to show clear intent to deceive and to cover the tracks of his deception.

One of the things that history has taught us is that people have an inbuilt propensity to follow the wrong leader. David Jones has developed an international career as author, vocal pedagogue, and teacher of singers and teachers in Europe and the U.S. His website, www.voiceteacher.com, contains articles based on the concepts of the Swedish-Italian Singing School. Mr. Jones also has a Facebook page where articles are posted at "The David Jones Voice Studio". He is a graduate of Texas Christian University with graduate research at the University of North Texas. Having also researched at the Groningen University Hospital (Groningen, The Netherlands) and the Laboratoire de la Voix Voice Clinic in Paris, he has had the opportunity to study how Old World concepts can be therapeutic in treating voice disorders. He also works in conjunction with the practice of Laryngologist Dr. Benjamin Asher in New York.
