Sir Alexander "Sandy" McCall SmithCBE FRSE (born 24 August ) is a Scottish legal scholar and author of fiction. He was raised in Southern Rhodesia (now Zimbabwe) and was formerly Professor of Medical Law at the University of Edinburgh.
