He may have been shown the door from Sunburn — the country’s premier (EDM) festival that he conceptualised, but Nikhil Chinapa hasn’t been lying low. Admitting that his ouster came as a shock, the VJ-producer-DJ says, “I wasn’t too happy with the micro-managing taking place across different departments. I believe one should be given a semblance of creative freedom but within the ambit of what a festival demands.”
Refusing to on the past, Chinapa is busy with a new EDM festival to be held in Candolim in the last week of December — incidentally, around the time of Sunburn. “I don’t want it to coincide with any other festival. Goa is like home for me and Pearl (wife & DJ),” he claims.
