    Valuation and Revaluation of the Idyll Schilleiian Traces in Nietzsche's Early Musical Aesthetics 1. Introduction As insufficiently acknowledged, all kinds of Schillerian traces can be discovered in Nietzsche's work.' In this article, I concentrate on a relation between Friedrich Schiller and Freidrich Nietzsche, which is barely discussed in the literature.^ This relation is detectable in Nietzsche's reflections on Schiller's notion of the idyll (Idylle) as it appears in the treatise Über naive und sentimentalische Dichtung (1795). In the preliminary notes to Die Geburt der Tragödie (1870/1871), one can find a strong interest in this notion. Nietzsche even tries to think the tragic and the idyllic together in respect of Richard Wagner's music. However, Die Geburt der Tragödie makes clear
