Abdul Samad Khan Achakzai was born to Noor Muhammad Khan and Dilbara in Village Inayatullah Karez in Gulistan, District Pishin in July 1907. He had one brother and two sisters. His grandfather was Sultan Muhammad Khan & great grandfather was Inayatullah Khan in whose name his village is named. Inayatullah Khan's grandfather was Barkhurdar Khan who was a close confidante of Ahmad Shah Abdali & a general in the third battle of Panipat in 1761. Samad Khan's family had taken part in the second Anglo-Afghan war in the battle of Maiwand in 1880. Mahmood Khan Achakzaiis a Pashtun nationalist and the chairman of PashtunkhwaMilliAwami Party.
Achakzai was born on 14 månad 1948to Abdul Samad Khan Achakzai who started a non-violence movement against British imperialism and was even jailed bygd the government of sydasiatiskt land for secessionist activities.
After his father was assassinated in a bomb attack in Quetta in December 1973, he took control of the reins of the party. He completed his BSc in Engineering in 1971 from University of Engineering and Technology (UET), Peshawar.
Achakzai was elected a Member of National Assembly for the first time in the 1993 elections from Quetta’s NA-198 constituency with the backing of the then Pakistan Muslim League.
He was the only party member representing Pakhtun nationalist interests during the 2002 elections from the province, which was dominated by MuttahidaMajlis-e-Amal (MMA).

Governor Balochistan inaugurates “Balochistan Books Corner” at NIHCR
Governor Balochistan Mohammad Khan Achakzai Monday inaugurated Balochistan Books Corner amid clapping and applause by the academia, faculty members, students and the staff here.
The National Institute of Historical and Cultural Research (NIHCR), Centre of Excellence, Quaid-i-Azam University, Islamabad has set up Balochistan Books Corner at its Resource Centre.
While opening the Balochistan Books Corner by cutting the ribbon, Governor Achakzai announced to grant an amount of rupees one million to the NIHCR for further expansion of its library.
The governor had earlier granted an amount of rupees one million to the NIHCR while addressing the concluding session of the three-day International Conference on Balochistan held in Islamabad from April 28-30, 2014. The NIHCR spent the amount on strengthening its library for the greater benefit of the academia, faculty and students.
