    Biography

    Sambrell was born in Vallecas on 23 February He travelled to Mexico because his parents were exiled there, beginning a football career in Puebla F.C., where he was known as Madrileño Sánchez, and also in C.F. Monterrey. When he returned to Spain he played for Alcoyano and Rayo Vallecano, and finally worked as an actor.

Swarthy and burly, usually sporting a thick mustache, and often projecting an air of quiet oily menace, Sambrell was frequently cast in colorful supporting parts as hateful villains and lethal gunslingers in numerous Italian spaghetti Westerns. Sambrell was born Alfredo Sanchez Brell on February 23, in Madrid, Spain. His family fled Spain because of the Spanish Civil War and he was raised in Mexico. While in Mexico Aldo played professional soccer in the Mexican leagues in Pueblo and Monterrey. After beginning his career in the entertainment industry as a singer, Sambrell eventually returned to Spain and made his film debut in an uncredited bit role as a Jewish rebel in the biblical epic King of Kings ().     Biography

    Though he was born in Madrid, Spain, on February 23, , Aldo Sambrell is best known for his appearances in the "spaghetti westerns" of Italian director Sergio Leone. Sambrell, who has been credited under a slew of different permutations of his name, appeared in several Westerns in the early s including "Gunfight at High Noon," "Implacable Three," and "Cavalry Charge." He began work on Leone's "A Fistful of Dollars" in and went on to star in the rest of the "Man With No Name" trilogy, including "For a Few Dollars More" and "The Good, the Bad and the Ugly," as well as the director's "Once Upon a Time in the West" and "Duck, You Sucker!," also known as "A Fistful of Dynamite." Between and Sambrell appeared in over films, many of them Westerns, where he was often cast as a violent gang member. He also had parts in other films, however, including "Doctor Zhivago" and "The Wind and the Lion." S
