Xuefei Yang is a Chinese classical guitarist who has performed in more than 50 countries at numerous prestigious venues such as Wigmore Hall, all Southbank venues, and Royal Albert Hall in London, as well as the Philharmonie Berlin, Auditorio Nacional de Espana, Concertgebouw Amsterdam, Konzerthaus Vienna, Barcelona Auditorium, Carnegie Hall & Lincoln Center New York. She has made many albums including several acclaimed recordings for EMI Classics. Born on March 15, 1977 in Beijing, China, Yang began playing the guitar at the age of 7. At age 10, Yang started studying under Chen Zhi, the Chairman of the China Classical Guitar Society. She made a public debut at the First China International Guitar Festival, where she met with an immediate acclaim.

Early years:
Yang began playing the guitar at the age of seven, and began formal tuition when she was ten, studying under the famous guitarist Chen Zhi, later Chairman of the China Classical Guitar Society. Her public debut was at the First China International Guitar Festival where she met immediate acclaim. At the same time, she was presented with her first foreign guitar (a "Pepe" children's guitar from Aria), by the celebrated Japanese guitar maker Masaru Kohno. She went on to win second prize at the Beijing Senior Guitar competition being the only child competitor, aged eleven.
As a school girl, Yang rapidly gained an international reputation, playing extensively in China, Hong Kong, Macau, Spain, and Australia, and giving concert tours in Taiwan, Japan and Portugal. Chineese origin (born in 1977, Beijing), currenlty UK-based, Xuefei Yangis one of the world's finest classical guitarists of our times. Xuefei started to play gitarr at the age of seven. She obtained a Bachelor of Arts from the prestigious Central Conservatory of Music.As the first guitarist from China ever she received an international scholarship at the Royal Academy of Music in London. In 2000 Xuefei moved to London to study beneath Michael Lewin, John Mills and Timothy Walker. From that time she has given numerous recitals and concerts in the United Kingdom, U.S., Germany, France, Spain, Belgium, the Netherlands, Finland, Australia, China, Japan and Singapore.
She played Rodrigo's "Fantasia para un Gentilhombre" with the BBC Concert Orchestra and "Concierto dem Aranjuez" with the Royal Academy of Music Symphony Orchestra. Xuefei performed at 54 concerts for the "Night of the Proms Tour" in 2003/2004.
