Laxman Utekar is retelling the life of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj in his first historical drama, 'Chhaava', starring Vicky Kaushaland based on a Marathi novel by Shivaji Sawant. The film focuses on the Maratha king's reign and his conflicts with Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb, particularly his coronation ceremony in 1681. Reportedly, a grand song was filmed for this scene, featuring Kaushal, Rashmika Mandanna, and 700 background dancers.
As per a report in Mid-day, an elaborate set modeled after Raigad Fort was constructed at Film City by production designers Subrata Chakraborty and Amit Ray. The song, composed by AR Rahman, was filmed over four days at this location.
